Nuevo Vallarta fishing august 30,2010

The fishing has been great offshore and there are big tuna and marlin, last few days and we have been getting marlin inside the bay, mahi-mahi , sailfish and more sailfish on the longer fishing charters, the weather is perfect and staying 85 deg with lots of sun. The tuna were in the bay but the smaller ones, The banco and corbetena has been hot for the big ones. All the folks had a great time yesterday and landed huge sailfish. We fished the bay yesterday for small game and had a fantastic trip caught about 30 fish mahi mahi, bonita and yellow tail.

We will be gearing up now for our annual sailfish, marlin, mahi mahi tournament which is in November, I have one boat open at this time, so if you are interested send me an e mail for more details

WELCOME TO THE BEAUTIFUL PUNTA PELICANOS VILLAS, (a small privileged gated community, sitting on the BEACH of BANDERAS BAY), located approximately 15 miles North of Puerto Vallarta Airport. As you cross into the SECURED entrance, and just past the tennis court, you will follow the cobblestone road surrounded by lush gardens down to the Villa, which sits at BEACH level. The VILLA features spectacular views of the Bay of Banderas, the NEW LA CRUZ YACHT HARBOR, pools and palapa.

The complex itself offers a total of 3 large pools, one being mini-Lake size, 4 Jacuzzi tubs, and a huge palapa. The VILLA itself sits just 50 yards from the BEACH, Pool, and Palapa. It's lower patio has a gas BBQ, dry bar, hammock, sette, dining area and expansive lawn. Pathways to the pool and beach are shaded by huge palm varieties.

A 5 minute walk on the beach brings you to the fishing village of La Cruz. Here you will find varied Nightlife featuring Live Music, and plenty of FOOD venues at reasonable prices. Just to mention a few you have Black Forest (German), BRITISH PUB (Pub food),Italian, French, Pizza, and of course traditional Mexican, and not to forget the famous STREET TACOS. The Open Market on Wednesday are loaded with plenty of fresh veggies, and lots of trinkets. Small shops line the streets of the village with fresh fish, tortillas, bakeries and great Meat markets. The Harbor offers a restaurant, Upstairs View Bar, day tripping, fishing packages, water taxis' to Nuevo Vallarta and then on to Puerto Vallarta. The village South is Bucerias with varied restaurants and nightlife as well. Lots of festivals are ongoing most of the time. Sunday market in Bucerias has offerings different then LaCruz.

July was a great month for fishing here in Puerto Vallarta but August will be even better.. We are still catching lot of sailfish, mahi mahi, bonita and marlin. The sardines are showing up everywhere and the fishing has been super hot. Some days we getting several marlin in one day along with mahi mahi. The sardines are everywhere and that means we can hook up some days 4 to 6 sails a day. The stripped marlin have been showing up as well but very few now that the water is warming but this means that the big blue and black marlin are here on longer trips . There has been a few caught inside the bay. There is also a lot of bonita and other small fish that are holding the big ones around the morro and corbetena. The water temp is about 83 deg. now . along with huge schools of sardines show up in and outside of the bay. The fish are moving in closer. it will be wide open here for all big game fish and small game on the shorter trips.. As of now we are catching sails, tuna , snapper, mahi-mahi and some of black/blue marlin. There are lots of yellowtail around 20-30 lbs. . The fishing tournament was a blast lot of big marlin caught, some medium tuna as well
