Fishing in Puerto Vallarta Mexico November 28 ,2010

The water has been cooling down ( 75 deg. ) but the fishing has been heating up here in Puerto Vallarta as of the week of November 20 th. This is one of the best times to be here for sailfish. Both tournaments were a big success although the November 11-13 sailfish/marlin tournament had fewer boats this year. I spoke with David of the club the pesca and explained that they need to get the promotion and fishing dates out earlier for next year. Over the last week the sailfish have been tearing the water up around Lo de Marcos to Sayulita. Around the islands jacks, Spanish mackerel, snapper, and pargos have been schooling. Anyone with diamond jigs, sardines or live bait could catch a limit in no time. Corbentena is still rocking producing marlin, mahi mahi , wahoo and sails. The tuna action has slowed at banco as there were some tuna boats out there last week, but we found them 5 miles past the corbetena. Best bet up north for sailfish or outside the bay for tuna, pargos , mahi mahi and Spanish mackerel.

The best baits have been trolling mullet, diamond jigs, sardines, Google eye lures and live baits for banco.
